    I just found this! I have that exact yarn, and I have been looking for a head covering for the summer. Bandanas always look funky on me, lol. Does this wear well or stretch too much etc? I haven’t worked with cotton for a hat yet. This is really lovely, and honestly beautifully vintage-looking 😊

    • @KatieCooksandCrafts
      @KatieCooksandCrafts 3 дні тому

      The cotton does tend to loosen up as you wear. Like a pair of jeans. Washing will return it but cotton yarn usually washes poorly over time. Poly -cottom blends wash better with a cotton like look and feel. This particular hat is 100% cotton and I just wear it loose. I don't really want a snug hat during summer anyway.

    A little tip for the cashews: if you wanna soak them but you're short on time, you could heat up some water to a boil, then put it aside, pour in the cashews, put a lid over, and let them soak in the hot water for 20-30 minutes :)

    Ha ha what did you use a machete. Cut even wedges as you eat your watermelon or top it and tail it and then go down the side so they're all even. Quick tip for you. After you have fermented anything you can then add flavor after only a few hours it will be great. Unless you wanted salty and Briny. Take out the brining liquid.. or just half. Now add a little sugar vinegar of your choice and you will have a lovely pickle flavor after only a day

    I thought the reason we weigh the garlic down is to prevent them from floating that can turn moldy....but then using the celery, which float over the surface. wouldn't the celery turns moldy?

      I think if you make 2 cones. Sew the inner 2 panels together of one cone to the 2 inner panels of the second. The inner panels would be shorter, I think, since they would only reach the crown of your head instead of to the hairline. Hmmm also the inner panels may need to be slimmer since they would be going across your head instead of around it. You could always resew those seams to take a larger seam allowance to reduce the bulk little by little, and then trim the extra away once it's the right size. I would love to see your project if you end up doing it.

    I have the Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. It's about 30 years old (it was my mom's). I bought the Kitchenaid glass bowl (read: NOT a knockoff) and the thing won't lock into place no matter which way I put it in there. I'm so frustrated. I even checked the model number of my mixer against the compatibility of the bowl and confirmed that I purchased the correct bowl. Ugh. I'll try out your trick. Hopefully, it works! I've used my FoodSaver to store lettuce many times. Keeps it fresh for at least 2 weeks. Normally I cut the lettuce into quarters and put it either in one of their gallon zip lock bags or a container. Lettuce will continue to decompose after that 2 week period when refrigerated, so keep an eye on it.
